Happy Tails Dog Rescue. Inc.

Dog rescue in Smithtown, NY

We are a small foster-based, 100% volunteer, animal rescue based on Long Island in NY. We do not have a facility, so all of our animals live in foster homes, with other pets, kids, etc. We save animals from high kill shelters and help local outreach groups who save animals from hoarding or abandonment cases. We also pull street dogs (Satos) from Puerto Rico, abused dogs from Macedonia, and desperate dogs from South Korea. All of our volunteers actively seek new, loving homes for these animals.

Rescue FAQs

We currently serve all of Long Island, NYC and other communities nearby. We prefer not to have out of state adoptions as we don't want to be too far in case the dog(s) need to come back.

We do not respond to many messages from Adopt-a-Pet on the weekends as we run adoption events those 2 days. Saturdays and Sundays.
