Our group primarily consists of two animal lovers who want to find good homes for pets in need with a minimum of fuss and bureaucracy. We are fortunate to have a couple of foster homes to help us in our quest. We sell books on Amazon and hold occasional yard sales to help pay for our expenses.

Cosmo's Cause is a small, all volunteer organization with locations in Lebanon, NJ and Monroe, VA. We take in local strays and surrenders, and sometimes take in animals from other states.
Additional adoption info
Adoption applications are required for all animals. References will be checked. Home visits are generally required. Adoption applications must be signed. Adoption fees vary based on a variety of factors. The adoption fee for dogs includes: spay/neuter, testing for heartworm and three tick-borne diseases, deworming, rabies and distemper shots, and any other care that we feel is needed for the specific pet. The adoption fee for kittens includes spay/neuter, testing for feline AIDS and leukemia, deworming, rabies and distemper shots, and any other care that we feel is needed for the specific pet. All calls and emails are responded to generally within one day. If multiple applications are received for a single pet, we place the pet in the home that we feel is the best fit for both the applicant and the pet. All adopters receive a two week trial period with their new pet; if the new pet doesn't turn out to be a good match we take the pet back and issue a full refund of the adoption fee. After two weeks, we always take the pet back but the adoption fee is not refunded. We use judgment rather than strict criteria when making decisions on placing pets.
