The Home for One adoption program focuses solely on dogs that prefer to be the only pet in a home. There seems to be a stigma surrounding these dogs, that they are somehow less adoptable or don't make good family pets... but we're here to tell you that is far from the truth!
Dogs that prefer to be the only pet are every bit as adoptable as any other dog! In fact, they seem to have more love to go around to their humans and don't hesitate shower them with love and devotion (and big slobbery kisses) every chance they get.
Many dogs that prefer not to have furry-siblings are not aggressive towards other animals; they are simply happiest when they have their humans all to themselves! Many of our adoptable only-pet dogs are great with humans of all sizes and would make wonderful family pets; all they need is a home to call their own.
So, if you're a one-dog kind of family, and dog parks really aren't your thing, take a look at our adoptable animals and let us pair you with your new best friend!
