We are a 501(c)(3) sheltie and collierescue group whose volunteers love the sheltie and collie breeds and aggressively seeks out shelties or collies needing assistance in the state and beyond. We take in all such dogs and including those with significant medical issues, geriatric, and behavioral issues. As resources permit we will assist sheltie or collie mixes. We are a home-based volunteer organization which means we don't have a shelter and dogs in our program are fostered in homes. We hold regular adoption events. We have partnered with some of the state animal control agencies to facilitate removal of shelties and collies from those facilities.

We serve the entire states of Arizona and New Mexico and the southwest portion of Texas. We also assist other sheltie and collie rescue groups in adjoining states or take in at risk shelties and collies in those states.
Additional adoption info
We regularly get shelties and collies from a variety of sources including the pound and owner turn-ins. We usually have dogs available for adoption. Dogs adopted from our program will be evaluated for temperament and health while living in a foster home. They will be brought current on shots and will be spayed or neutered if that procedure has not been performed on the dog. While there are exceptions, dogs in our program will typically be between the ages of 3-8 years old.
Our adoption fee typically runs around $275. This fee is used to pay expenses (mostly veterinary) pertaining to our rescues. We are a volunteer organization and have negligible administrative expenses.
Upon receipt of your application we will match it against available dogs in our program to determine if we have any suitable shelties or collies for your household. If a sheltie or collie is available that meets your needs, and we feel will be a good fit with your household, we will discuss the dog with you. If you are interested in the dog we will arrange to bring the dog to your home and meet any other household members and pets. If after seeing the sheltie or collie you and our representative believe that the dog is a good fit, you will sign an adoption contract and the dog will be left at your house. We will perform some follow-up with you to ensure that any initial questions are answered and the adoption is going well.
Our adoption contract basically specifies that you will exercise responsible care over your dog. While most of our customers are very happy with their rescues, if you are not happy with your dog you are required to return the sheltie or collie to us. If requested, we will refund the adoption fee.
