Harlem Cats

Cat rescue in New York City, NY

We are a group of rescuers working together to save as many stray and friendly cats from Harlem and North Manhattan as we can! We LIVE to find awesome homes for our rescue cats. We try to reply to emails the same day, and help you arrange a time to meet the cat asap (even though we all have "real" jobs).

All our rescue cats are vetted (spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, tested for diseases, most are microchipped). We ask a small adoption fee to help us cover vetting costs.

Most of our cats are kittens or young cats (1-2 years old). Often (but not always) we ask that kittens be adopted in pairs, especially if they are bonded with a litter mate. Some of our other cats are part of bonded pairs, and we note this in their listing.

Our rescue cats are very special to us, so we strive to make sure the people who adopt them are a good match. That's why we ask people to meet our cats and fill out an adoption application (as most rescue groups do)--it's also to help you find the perfect kitty!

Additional adoption info

Most of our kitties are in foster homes in Harlem and other parts of NYC. We love if interested adopters can meet the cat in the foster home, where the cat is most comfortable. However, if that is not possible, we can arrange a time for a meet-at-greet elsewhere, such as the vet clinic we work with.
