Rescue FAQs

We are a 100% volunteer based non-profit organization based out of Gimli, MB who rehabilitate and re-home unwanted dogs in Manitoba. We have successfully adopted hundreds of dogs throughout North America. Our dogs are either housed at our sanctuary in Gimli, or in foster homes throughout Manitoba (specifically Winnipeg)

Additional adoption info

Being an adoption is completed, the following must occur:

1. We encourage all potential adopters to meet with the dog in person, to see if they feel it will be a good match. We also encourage the rescue dog be introduced to any resident dog ahead of time.
2. An adoption application must be filled out and sent to our adoption coordinator at lakeridgeadoptions@gmail.com.
3. A home check will need to be conducted by one of our volunteers

Once the adoption application has been approved, we can make arrangements for transfer of ownership. The new owner will need to sign an adoption contract as well as submit either a cheque or cash for the adoption fee.

Adoption fees:

Adults: $300 - this includes the spay/neuter, tattoo or microchip, vaccinations and 6 weeks of free pet insurance.

Puppies: $400 - this includes the spay/neuter, tattoo or microchip, vaccinations and 6 weeks of free pet insurance. Once confirmation of completion of spay/neuter has been received, $100 will be transferred back to the adopting family
