The Vindicated Vision is to restore the reputation of the misunderstood Pit Bull. We rescue and rehome Pit Bull type dogs with responsible, educated owners. We also promote responsible breed ownership through education and training. We encourage every approved adopter to set their training standards high by having our own Canine Good Citizen and Therapy certified dogs as examples to show the potential and how wonderful Pit Bull type dogs can be.

Additional adoption info
Please check your local laws regarding any breed specific bans within your county before applying to adopt a Vindicated dog. We will not place a dog in a county where there is an active breed ban.
Fill out our online application. You must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to be eligible to adopt a dog from us. VPBR performs a background check as part of the adoption process.
A volunteer will be in touch with you to speak about your application and also to answer any questions you might have regarding our adoption process.
Please be advised that often times the dog you have requested to adopt may not be the right fit for you. We get to know you through the adoption process and will match you up with a dog in our program that we feel would be best suited for you based off of your lifestyle. We’re not going to lie- our adoption process is lengthy, so please be patient with us. We promise that we’re doing our best to match you up with the best dog so you can get the dog you are expecting.
You will be expected (read: required) to provide some level of professional training for your new family member. Pit Bulls have a high desire to please and typically excel with all stages of training, from beginner through advanced.
All VPBR dogs have been fully vetted (DA2PPV, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines, Heartworm test, Heartworm preventative, Flea/tick preventative, fecal, and any other medical attention needed when pulled into our program) and will be kept current on all vaccines/preventatives while in our care. It will be the adopters responsibility to provide vaccines/preventatives once they are approved for adoption.
VPBR does not discriminate based off of sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, or skin color. We reserve the right to refuse adoption based off of our application process and assessment.
Adoption fees:
Puppies under 6 months - $375
Puppies 6-12 months - $325
Dogs 1-6 years - $275
Dogs 6+ - $200
We will offer a two week in home trial before an adoption is finalized. This is because often times it takes about two weeks for a dog to settle into their new environment. We want to make sure that you are comfortable with the dog you have chosen to adopt. Our ultimate goal is to make both adopter and dog happy, and we don’t want you to feel “stuck” with a dog that you realize is not the right one for you. You will be asked to sign our adoption contract and VPBR will collect the adoption fee at the beginning of the two week trial. We will continue taking applications on a dog that is in a trial adoption. However, we will not remove a dog from a trial adoption and the new application will simply serve as a “back up”. If at the end of the two week trial you wish to adopt the dog, just let us know and we will then deposit your adoption donation and register your pets microchip. If you decide after two weeks that this is not the dog for you, we will reclaim the dog and assume care for the dog. We do not offer any refunds on adoption fees.
