Rescue FAQs

Clear Creek Cat Rescue is a group of individuals in Alaska dedicated to rescuing cats in need, giving them care, rehabilitation if needed, and finding happy homes for them. We each give what we can to help these cats get through this most unfortunate time in their lives when they have been taken to the pound or are otherwise lost and homeless. Some of us share our homes with these cats while they are waiting for their forever family, some transport them from place to place, some host adoption fairs, take pictures, post ads. Some offer financial help. We each do what we can to help. And through this dedicated group of people, more than a thousand cats have been saved and found loving homes. In 2020, we rescued and rehomed approximately 650 cats.
Our cats are available for adoption in Anchorage, Wasilla, Palmer, Eagle River, Kenai, Soldotna and Homer. We also have a 'Barn Cat Project' that serves Southcentral Alaska and the Kenai Peninsula, as well as other parts of the state that have suitable climate. We rescue cats from all over Alaska.

Story
Want a bright, spirited girl around to bring light to every day?! Here's Mae! She a little loving spark plug. She knows how to get the fun going! She's about 9 months old now and ready for a great joyful and loving home. She is so affectionate and so vibrant. She does great with all the other cats. Which is the reason why she was not offered for adoption out as a kitten. She did such a good job at befriending the scared boy kitty in the foster home that she stayed around to help him become more comfortable with people. She is really good at it and showed him that he could trust them. Now that he has learned from her how nice people can be, Mae is free to go off and find her own people and new kitty friends. And if there is one out there that needs her help to be more comfortable around kind people, she is up to the task. She will need kitty friends and if they like to play and hang out together, that would be lovely. We don't know how she would be with a dog but a nice one might be just fine. She hasn't really been around children. But as is usually the case, if the child is nice and gentle, the kitty will be comfortable with them. Mae does love to go outside and enjoy the nice days of spring and summer. So she will need a safe place to be able to do that with her parents and brothers and sisters. She would love to part of that fun in nature with her family. In Wasilla. Call 907 350-8089

Story
This is Khaki, the playful 1.5 year old pittie girl with the most beautiful eyes! She was recently pulled from the ACC, where she spent about a month and a half behind the bars of a cage. Khaki is a wonderful, happy, outgoing little girl! She's pretty young and therefore energetic, and so she enjoys running around and playing whenever possible. Khaki was originally seized by the NYPD for unknown reasons, but now she has her second chance at a happy life. Khaki is sweet, smart, loving and playful. Won't you give her a chance to make you the happiest family around?! All IOHR animals have had age-appropriate medical care.
