Shelter FAQs

Serving all of Savannah Chatham Animal Services needs. We have officers who pick up injured, stray, and abandoned animals. As well, we are open to the public to bring in animals who have been found. A hold is put on these animals for possible owners to come and pick up. After the hold, animals are looked at on an individual level, health and temperament is taken into consideration, and the animal is placed on the adoption floor to find a new home and a new family to love.

Additional adoption info

First things first:
- Adoption application, can be found at the facility or also on our website
- Adoption agreement, also here at the shelter or online for more convenience
- deed...
- Other dogs? If other dogs will be present in the home where your new animal will be, we do require you to bring you pet, with proof of current vaccinations, to the shelter to do a "meet and greet"
- Adoption fees vary depending on price of vaccinations. We always try to have a deal for each month.
