We are a rescue, meaning we do not deal with breeders and our feathered friends are not babies, they are children now in the foster system waiting for a loving home.
For several years we have taken in surrendered birds, cared for them and have successfully rehomed many.
As any bird lover knows, they can live for an extremely long time for a pet, many outlive their owners, or due to the owners relocating to assisted living do not have anyone willing to love their pet as they did, so we have stepped in to fill the gap. Unfortunately pet stores are selling more and more birds, so now we are seeing younger people surrendering, as they find out birds need several hours a day of love an attention, more than a young couple can give.

Seymour's serves 100 mile area from our facility, we limit this as home inspections are done prior to our feathered friends leaving our facility.
Additional adoption info
We require an adoption application to be filled out, as well as visits with potential adopted friend (to make sure they want you as much as you want them). Once obvious bond, we will schedule a home inspection.
If you find after adopting your friend that things are not working out, it is in our adoption contract that they come back to us and not get passed around from home to home.
Adoption fees start at $5 for finches and up to $1000.00 for the larger birds (macaws/greys). The larger birds adoption fee includes the cage that they are currently in.
We also have a small exotic bird store attached to our shelter, so I may not be able to get back to you the same day, but will respond to any questions you may as quickly as possible
