We are a 501(c)(3) approved non profit organization rescuing small breed dogs with a foster network in multiple states around the country. We do not have a physical location since our dogs are in foster homes. Our mailing address is currently in Texas where we handle our administrative work, but most of our dogs are fostered on the east coast.
Our vision is for all animals to be given the opportunity to live in a peaceful environment with a warm place to rest their head, proper medical care, a full belly, and to truly know the meaning of love.
Our mission is to rescue abused or abandoned animals that otherwise would not have a chance. Most of our rescues come from puppy mills and high-kill shelters around the country.

We currently adopt in states where we have foster and transport volunteers. Transport is available to NY (excluding NYC, Bronx, Long Island), NJ, eastern PA, DE, some areas of Maryland). We occasionally have dogs fostering in TX and CA and local adoptions are available for those dogs-transport is also available to the east coast.
We do not adopt dogs outside of the USA.
Additional adoption info
Our organization is run by volunteers who all work full time so we ask that you apply only if you are sure you are ready to adopt a dog. For casual lookers, please visit us at one of our adoption events which are posted on our website:

We do not have a shelter - all of our dogs are in foster homes.
Our adoption application is on our website at www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org/adopt.html
Our adoption fees are on our application and vary by age of the dog. Since we are a public charity, we rely on the adoption fee and donations to help us cover vet bills for our rescues.
We believe in matching the family with the right dog so we do not have a checklist of requirements - some dogs need a fenced in yard where others do just fine with regular leash walking. The only general requirement we have is that adopters of our puppy mill rescues must have a fenced in yard since these dogs can be flight risks at first. Most puppy mill dogs will not do well in a home that doesn't have another dog.
It is impossible for us to answer all inquiries due to the high volume of email that we receive. However, if you apply for a dog and have not heard back within 3 days, please feel free to email us at adoptions@dutchcountryanimalrescue.org to make sure your application went through OK. We prioritize emails from applicants and adopters.
