We love cats. And we want to help them. Sometimes that means helping their people too. We started by taking care of community cats, and a litter was brought in. That started the "What's One More" mantra until we decided we needed to find homes for these guys so we could help more. This is not easy, especially since we work with special needs cats. But these cats are loveable and love to cuddle. They just want to have their own family that will love them despite their noisy breathing or snotty nose.

Kristi's Kats, Inc. works with residents of Sussex County, Delaware to provide spay/neuter at a reduced rate, help with food if needed, and accepts cats into the rescue on a limited basis. Kristi's Kats, Inc. specializes in special needs cats. This means the cats may have chronic upper respiratory infections, breathe funny, missing an eye or a limb or even be older than the oh-so-desirable kitten. All of the cats in the rescue are spayed or neutered before they are adopted out, up to date on shots, and if they are on or need medication, that goes with them. Sometimes finding a home for one of these guys may take 2 years. But they are safe at the rescue until that person is ready to take that cat!
Additional adoption info
Our adoption process is an application, where we check out your vet reference. We prefer home owners to renters as landlords are not always pet friendly. Once your reference comes back ok, there is a contract and a $75 adoption fee. Remember, your cat has already been spayed or neutered, is current on shots and has been tested for FIV and Feline Leukemia. While there may be other needs that your cat needs, all the big stuff has already been done!
