Rescue FAQs

NGAA, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) Organization comprised of volunteers. We operate on the financial support of donations, memberships, grants, and corporate sponsors. The mission of North Georgia Animal Alliance (NGAA), Inc: Reduce the number of adoptable animals that are euthanized at local county shelters and promote the humane treatment of animals through responsible pet ownership. Strategic Focus Areas: 1) Prevent animal overpopulation through our low cost spay/neuter program. For residents of Catoosa and Walker County who are in financial need, we pay the majority of the cost to spay/neuter at our main supportive clinic, Dixie Day Spay in Cleveland, TN. We also use other local clinics on a rotating basis. We can also work with local vets to pay a portion toward surgery costs for pets whose owners may not be able to afford the entire bill. This is determined on a case be case basis. 2) Educate the community about humane treatment of animals. We maintain a 24-Hour Help Line (706) 937-2287 and our website providing information, resources, and referrals to callers who have a wide variety of questions and needs regarding animal care. 3) Reduce the number of adoptable animals surrendered and/or euthanized at the local county shelters. • Early intervention with owners; • Provide financial assistance with vet care and food; • Furnish resources for behavioral issues; • Pull as many adoptable dogs and cats from local shelters and place them in our foster/adoption program; • Reconnect lost dogs & cats with owners by networking through social media (Facebook and Instagram) and our website.
We are located in the NW Georgia area. We work to help animals mainly in Catoosa and Walker Counties as we are able.

Additional adoption info

We have an adoption application form on our website: northgeorgiaanimalalliance.org. After completing the application, we can arrange a meeting with the animal if your application is approved. If all goes well then the adoption is confirmed! Payments for the adoption fee are CASH or PAYPAL only. PayPal includes a $2 service fee. The contract stipulates that the adopter agrees to provide for the animal's physical, emotional, and medical needs, treat the animal as a member of the family, and if at any time not able to keep the animal, you will return them to us. Our adoption fee for cats varies from $65-85
