National Brussels Griffon Rescue, Inc. - South Atlantic Region

Dog rescue in Raleigh, NC

National Brussels Griffon Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization. We rescue Brussels Griffons who have been abandoned, lost, abused, or for other reasons must be re-homed.

Each of our rescued Brussels Griffons are lovingly cared for in the private homes of our nationwide network of unpaid and very dedicated volunteers who rescue Griffs in need.

Our adoptable Griffs live with our volunteer foster families for as long as it is necessary to find the perfect forever home for each and every one of our Griffs.

Many of our volunteers work full or part-time jobs, and have family obligations, along with caring for their own Griffs and the foster Griffs in their homes, so please be patient with us during the adoption process.

Additional adoption info

Please keep in mind that the adoption process is not always a speedy one, but we can assure you a Brussels Griffons is well worth the wait!

The first step in the inquiry and adoption process is to fill out our adoption application, which will assist us in becoming better acquainted with you, and achieving our first and foremost goal of matching our rescued Griffs with a forever home which best fits the needs of the Griff, and the life style of the adoptive family.

Our adoption application can be found at www.brusselsgriffonrescue.org
(1) Make sure your pop up blocker is not enabled.
(2) Click on the link on the left side of the page which says "Adoption and
Foster Applications".
(3) You will see two links: "Foster Application" and "Adoption Application".
(4) Click on "Adoption Application".
(5) You will then see a page titled Adoption Information, Policies and Adoption Disclaimer". Please take the time to read this information.
(6) At the bottom of the page click on "Accept and Continue" to fill out the adoption application.
(7) Please answer each question in full.
(8) You will receive a more detailed reply about the Griff your are interested in upon receipt of your adoption application.

If an adoption application is tentatively approved, an appointment for a pre-adoption home visit will be made.

Upon approval of an adoption application, a legally binding adoption contract is signed by the applicant agreeing to specific terms of care for the dog, and specific situations when the adoptive family must contact NBGR after the adoption.

National Brussels Griffon Rescue, Inc. maintains a nation wide network of volunteer foster homes who care for our rescued Brussels Griffons until their perfect forever home is found.

National Brussels Griffon Rescue, Inc., as well as most rescues ask for an adoption donation. NBGR donations can range between $300 and $500 dollars, depending on the age, health and emotional condition of the dog. We do offer reduced suggested donations for older or special needs animals.

Your adoption donation is tax deductible. National Brussels Griffon Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 not for profit rescue organization.

Adoption donations are deposited into our general bank account, and used to cover veterinary treatment as well as general expenses for any Griff coming into our rescue program.

All National Brussels Griffon Rescue's officers, rescue coordinators, and foster families are volunteers, and are not paid for their time or services.

We do not place our adoptable Griffs in forever homes on a "first come-first serve basis". Each of our rescued Griffs have individual needs, activity levels and may require certain lifestyles, which our volunteer foster home families become intimately familiar with.

If an adoption application is submitted for a particular Griff which does not appear to be a compatible match for the Griff or the hopeful family, the adoption application is placed in the available applicants section of our data base until the ideal match is found for the family's needs, lifestyle and activity level, and of course the perfect match is found for one of our very deserving rescued Griffs.
