TLC Rescue ... Teresa's Legacy Continues

Animal rescue in Clearfield, KY

We are a small group of experienced rescuers/volunteers who decided to form a new rescue in honor of Teresa Mason, our friend and former president of another rescue, who died in January 2014. Some of our members have been involved in rescue for 20+ years.

We are a KY non-profit organization and have federal 501(c)(3) non-profit status.

We need foster homes for dogs in the Rowan & Bath County Kentucky areas as well as people who can assist with transporting dogs to the vet during weekdays. We are also seeking local volunteer help with photographing animals in nearby shelters.

Rescue FAQs

At this time our intake is closed. We are holding dogs from a cruelty seizure and we have no available space. We do need donations! This is a huge undertaking!

TLC Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue organization staffed entirely by volunteers. We rescue from the Rowan, Fleming, Bath and Carter County areas in rural northeastern Kentucky and work with rescues/adopters throughout the northeast.

We are actively seeking short-term foster homes for dogs in Rowan & Bath counties (within driving distance of Clearfield, KY). Fosters provide safe havens for the dogs while they await vetting and transport. Fostering saves lives and helps free up space in our local shelter, thus helping the shelter avoid euthanasia for space. Typical foster time is 1-3 weeks. To inquire about fostering or volunteering, please email teresaslegacy.julia@gmail.com

Additional adoption info

We require an application, personal and vet reference checks, home visit, meet-n-greet with all members of the family, and adoption contract stating the dog must be returned to us if adopter cannot keep it.

All of our dogs are altered, heartworm tested (if over 6 months), vaccinated & dewormed prior to adoption.
