Purrs, Paws, and Claws - Lexington KY Chapter

Animal rescue in Lexington, KY

Purrs, Paws, an Claws started about 2004. We started with just rescuing cats and kittens from high kill shelters. Over the years Purrs, Paws, and Claws has taken in cats, kittens, goats, pigs, chickens, pigeons, parrots, dogs, and puppies. We once took in lizards and scorpions as well!! We find the right homes for all of our rescued pets. Many of our animals that are taken in are taken from horrible conditions. Some of the adults take time to come around and except the love that we offer everyday. Many come around within the first day of being in a loving home.
I love working with all of the animals that come through this rescue. It is so rewarding bringing them back up and then finding that perfect home for each and every one of them. At times it is very hard to let them go but knowing they are going into a home where they will be the center of attention means so much. Just seeing the smiles of the new families makes us going on everyday of the year. Even though we go through some very stressful times I can't see us doing anything else. We have made a lot of friends along the way and have been lucky to see our animals flourish in their new homes. We look forward to be doing this for years to come.
