Rescue FAQs

The mission for this rescue is for border collie breed, border collie mixes, and other herding dogs that has been mistreated, misunderstood, and left behind to struggle with uncertain options. There are too many to rescue that need experienced breed rescue support, love, guidance to be stronger and better than ever before! I take my time with my rescues, most are fostered in my home with my personal dogs, to access them in as many situations in life and developing what they need to achieve beyond what the past was given to them. The At Home Houston Border Collie Rescue is a strong family here to continue in your pups path as life moves forward.
At Home Houston Border Collie Rescue is a one woman rescue that primarily serves Houston TX, various areas across the state. I do have contacts in the OH region adding this as a second location for adoptive homes-all dogs are located in Houston TX but can travel for their forever homes. I have had many successful out of state adoptions as well as TX adoptions, we are a family. All adoptions must meet full requirements and communication with shelter director. No adoption is exempt from the adoption donation in state or out of state. This is a rescue group, all dogs are treated as personal pets, live as family with my personal dogs inside a home developing crate training/leash training/exposure to many different environments with training. My motto: always more to learn in life; taking each rescue to the next level of their future

Additional adoption info

All dogs are fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested and on heart-worm prevention, they live inside the home as a family. All adopters are guided through the process of which their dog is at with their training/health during time of adoption and how best to proceed with tools given for that dogs future. All dogs adoption donation $250 unless noted otherwise noted in the bio. There an adoption application to be filled out, home visit where applicable, meet and greet, sometimes spend the nights for very special pups, adoption contract to be filled out and spay/neuter contracts when a dog is under 6 months of age or not fully developed for best growth potential. I go above and beyond in health; nutrition; and training in the living environment developing the dog for a better tomorrow.
