Rescued Pets Movement Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) all-volunteer organization that transports animals from Houston and Greater Houston area shelters to other 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organizations that have demand for adoptable pets.
Thousands of dogs and cats are needlessly euthanized in the Greater Houston area each year simply because of pet overpopulation. After working with various rescue groups for many years, the founders of Rescued Pets Movement have come to realize the best way to save these dogs and cats is to build solid relationships with reputable shelters and rescue groups here and in areas of the U.S. where pet overpopulation isn’t such a dire issue, and then arrange transportation to get the animals there. Not only is this the best way to save Houston’s shelter pets from euthanasia, but we believe it will be the impetus in helping Houston shelters become no-kill shelters. Working with BARC in late summer of 2013 alone, Rescued Pets Movement has saved more than 450 pets by transporting them to Colorado.
Additionally, there will be some dogs and cats that are not candidates for transports and will be adopted out locally in Houston.
We are also so blessed to also have some amazing fosters in the Littleton and greater Denver area and so also have some very special dogs up for adoption in our Colorado branch too. Please email us today about more information!

Additional adoption info
RMP will require an application and home visit for the adoption of any of our animals. The customary adoption fee is $100 for dogs and $50 for cats.
RPM has an application that we will send to you and ask you to complete. This helps us make sure that we are making the best match possible for both you and the dog...afterall, adopting a dog is a big commitment and we want to do everything we can to help find the perfect match for you. The adoption fee helps to offset the cost (but seldom ever covers) the spay or neuter, all shots, microchip, heartworm test (if over 6 months of age) and worming. Please email us today for more information on adopting a pet.
After we get the application, we will call you and set up a meeting and do a home visit - again to help make sure that we haven't missed anything and to help the adopter with introduction to other pets and kids, as needed. We also can help line up training and continue to support our adopters even after they have adopted a pet from us!! We also consider things like "test runs" and foster to adopt situations so ask us today - we want to find these homeless babies good homes and are flexible about working with you to make it work!
