BROWN DOG RESCUE, INC

Animal rescue in Oberlin, OH

Brown Dog Rescue, Inc is very proud to be an ALL VOLUNTEER organization that is made up of individuals who love dogs and want the best for the homeless dogs of Ohio. Our focus is to rescue dogs from the shelters in the Cleveland area that have the highest kill numbers. The numbers of dogs in the Cleveland area that are put to sleep due to lack of space in the shelters are staggering. Once we get the dogs out of these shelters, we need foster homes to house the dogs while permanent homes are approved. We need volunteers to pick up dogs at kennels and take them to the Veterinary clinic. We need volunteers to share our dogs with friends, coworkers, relatives to find homes for them. We attend many Pet Adoption Fairs with our available dogs, so we need volunteers to work at the shows to handle the dogs and speak with prospective adopters. If you are unable to volunteer, donations that will help these neglected dogs get the Veterinary care they deserve would be greatly appreciated.
Everything you can do will help....Please get involved in our Rescue...The dogs and cats need your help!

Rescue FAQs

Additional adoption info

Should you want to adopt one of our dogs or cats in foster care you will be required to fill out an adoption application. We require 3 references, one of those being a Veterinarian. We do a home visit with the prospective adoptive dog so the family can meet the dog at their home to see how it interacts with their family .
Once approved for adoption a contract will be signed. The adoption fee is $150.00. All dogs will be vaccinated, spayed or neutered, tested for heartworms, and intestinal worms. The dog will be on heartworm preventative also.
