We are mostly a support for another rescue but recently started doing adoptions of our own. We work with KassysFurryFriends, which is based out of Calgary, AB.
We foster and care for homeless guinea pigs that need new homes. We also help promote guinea pig care with our website. Why don't you have a peek.
We do what we do because there are 1000s of homeless guinea pigs each year in Alberta. Many live out their shorten lives in bad cages, bad food and never get to enjoy what it means to be kept in proper conditions.
Canadian Cavy works with Kassy'sFurryFriends is adoptions of guinea pigs for all of Alberta, Canada. Based out of Edmonton, we serve Edmonton to Calgary.
Additional adoption info
We have a $20 per pig fee, unless we are having an adoption day.
We do have adoption contracts, these contracts are to be filled out prior to coming in to see the guinea(s) and outline everything that is required to adopt from us (cage requirements, diet, bedding and so on).
We will require a proper cage set up before adoption and photos of it can be emailed to us.
You will be asked to research guinea pigs to make sure that our adoptables do not end up homeless again from people who do not understand the commitment guinea pigs need from their owners.
