South Texas Bully Alliance

Dog rescue in Spring, TX

South Texas Bully Alliance (STXBA) is a non-profit rescue pending 501(c) (3) exemption status and future no-kill sanctuary specializing in the restoration and rehabilitation of Bully Breeds in the South Texas area.

Mission Statement:
“A righteous man has regard for the life of his beast, but the compassion of the wicked is cruel.” Proverbs 12:10

STXBA’s primary mission is to save the lives and restore the reputation of what is known as canine Bully Breeds in the South Texas region. This mission will be held through proper education and sharing the knowledge of the breeds deriving from the original bulldogs ancestry; and implementing proper responsibility while providing sanctuary for these forgotten canines in an attempt to provide forever homes for the misunderstood and loving breeds of the Bully Breed class.

Our Vision:
Extensive fenced yards with adequate sunlight and shade give kind and hospitality to the once forgotten Bullies, from various age ranges and charming personalities these wonderful beasts will once again confide in mankind and exemplify courageous and loyal characteristics of true companionship between a man and his dog…..We are “South Texas Bully Alliance.”

An alliance is an agreement or friendship between two or more parties, made in order to advance common goals and to secure common interests. STXBA is an alliance of Bully Breed advocates who recognized the true nature of the wonderful beast that make up the Bully Breed class, and the defaults associated with Breed Specific Legislation (BSL). All members have extensive backgrounds in animal handling and/or animal shelter administration. These experiences brought the alliance together to realize the must needed opportunity to restore the reputation of canine Bully Breeds in Houston and surrounding areas (the breeds most often euthanized in a sheltering environment). Our principal goal is to properly educate and share the courageous and yet family loving traits that are often misconstrued by media exploitation.

Additional adoption info

Adoption Info:

We have several bullies available for adoption which vary in age, sex, and size. All of our bullies will be spayed/neutered before adoption; this is in an effort to decrease the overpopulation of the most over breed canines in our country (bully breeds). This means that our bullies are for family pets and can not be used for breeding purposes or any other reason than as a companion animal. Your application will be reviewed by a representative of STXBA who will contact you with further instructions within 1-3 days of your submission.

Adoption Fee:
Our adoption fee is non-refundable as it is considered a monetary and charitable donation of which helps support future bullies in need of rescue. The standard adoption fee is $150.00 for any bully adopted through our organization.

Home Inspection:
Once your application has been approved, a board member from our organization will arrange for a time to visit with you at your home of where you will intend to provide sanctuary for the newly adopted bully.

*Please note that we are not trying to invade your privacy or trying to make the adoption process difficult. Our organization and the fosters/volunteers who deal with the rescued bullies on a daily basis put a lot of love and dedication into re-homing them and we just want what’s best for both bully and adopter(s).

Adoption of an STXBA Bully includes:
Veterinary Office Visit and Physical Exam at Critter Care Animal Hospital
Spay/Neuter Surgery (Mandatory)
Initial Vaccines (Including Rabies Vaccine & De-Wormer)
Microchip with Registration
Heartworm Treatment (If Positive for Heartworms)
