FAWS, a volunteer no-kill companion animal rescue organization, opened its "virtual doors" in 2008 as a network of foster caregivers in East Feliciana Parish. Volunteers are greatly needed, so please join our effort. As things are going now, we hope to celebrate the rescue of our 1000th pet by the end of 2012! In addition to our rescue and placement efforts, FAWS is proud of its Community Outreach work with the citizens of our impoverished parish. Donations received from our generous supporters have enabled us to carry out an aggressive canine spay/neuter program, but we are most proud of our Feline Management Program with over 250 feline spays/neuters within the first 8 months of 2012. For more information, give us a call at 225-252-5138. Visit our PF site at WWW.FAWS.PETFINDER.COM; friend us on FB at Feliciana Faws. Email us at FelicianaAnimalWelfareSociety@yahoo.com. Donate to FAWS at P.O. Box 8633, Clinton, LA 70722 or via Paypal. Most of all --Volunteer!

The FAWS pet adoption program has no boundaries. Our rescue and community outreach programs span the parish of East Feliciana, Louisiana. FAWS is a network of foster homes primarily located in the EF Parish communities of Clinton, Jackson, Slaughter, Ethel, Norwood and Wilson. Our spay/neuter programs also apply to EF Parish. Volunteers in nearby areas are welcome!
Additional adoption info
Potential adopters are screened during the initial phone call and are asked questions pertaining to the environment they plan to provide their new pet. This phone interview will include questions about the household, children, indoor/outdoor characteristics, other pets in the household and an overview of the adopter's plans for providing a safe and loving home for their new pet.
Adoption fees are $40 for felines and $40-$100 for canines, including spay/neuter and up to date vaccinations. (A voucher program applies to puppies too young to be spayed.)
Adoptions take place the day potential adopters meet their new forever pet and the adoption contract/payment is handled at that time.
