Welcome Friends! The Animal Center ("The Center") is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping animals. Our goal is to help end companion animal homelessness and prevent cruelty to animals in Newtown and the broader Connecticut community by providing services that foster the bond between humans and animals. We also pull many dogs from high kill shelters in Georgia. We are a foster only organization so in order to visit any dog, an appointment must be made.

We are a foster only, non-profit rescue based in Newtown, Ct with foster homes throughout Ct. In order to contact us, fill out an application and check out our website for FAQ. Due to limited resources and a large call volume, it may take us several days to respond to calls but we typically respond to email same-day.
To adopt, simply out the adoption form for the animal you are interested in and submit email or fax it to us.
We do not have a shelter so before you can meet any of the animals in our program, you need to submit an adoption form and that animal's foster family will get back to you promptly.
You can find the dog adoption form at http://www.theanimalcenter.org/adopt.htm
Additional adoption info
The Animal Center runs its rescue programs entirely through a volunteer foster network. We do not have a shelter. This means we don't have a central location where all our adoptable animals are kept, nor do we have viewing "hours" because our adoptable animals are in the safety and comfort of private homes, not in a shelter facility.
To adopt, please fill out our adoption form on the website for the animal you're interested in. When we receive your form, our volunteers will contact you to set up a day and time that works for you to meet the cat or dog you're interested in.
Adoption Includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, microchipping and deworming. Adoption fee varies dog to dog staring around $250 for an adult dog and $350 for a puppy.
