The mission of the Hood County Animal Control is to promote and enforce the humane treatment of the animal population in Hood County. This mission will be accomplished through dedication to rabies eradication, reducing animal euthanasia and controlling the pet population through a cooperative effort with the community.
Hood County Animal Control adoption fee for a unaltered animal is $85. This fee is for a prepaid voucher to have the animal sterilized and rabies vaccinated with a participating veterinarians office.
Adoption fee for altered animals is $25. The fee is for a prepaid voucher to have the animal rabies vaccinated with a participating veterinarians office.

All adoptions are first-come, first-serve. Adoptions are free. A contract must be signed, stating you will spay/neuter the animal, and obtain a rabies vaccination. All vaccinations and medical treatments are the responsibility of the adopter. Hours of operation: Monday thru Friday 9-5 p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday.
