Animal rescue in Breaux Bridge, LA

The St. Martin Humane Society was founded in April 1999 by a group of concerned citizens. The Society obtained a 501(c)(3) tax exemption status in June 2000 and relies on community support and fundraising to fulfill its mission.

Our mission is to prevent and relieve the suffering of animals, aid in the enforcement of all laws relating to the subject of cruelty to animals and the lawful protection thereof, carry on a program of teaching and education on the subject of cruelty to animals and responsible pet care, reduce the overpopulation of domestic animals in the area served by the SMHS through spay/neuter and vaccination programs, seek the return of lost animals to their rightful owners, seek suitable homes for animals without owners, and obtain and maintain shelters for homeless or abused animals.
