Rescue FAQs

The Rabbit Haven is a place where people and rabbits have a safe, friendly setting to meet each other in a supportive and caring environment and is designed to benefit rabbits and the public. We are family-friendly and delighted to help anyone learn about rabbits and help to create happy adoptive families. We offer free matchmaking and bonding services, nail and scent gland cleaning for adopted bunnies, plus a supportive staff that is always ready to answer your questions. We do this for the love of rabbits as a community service. All Haven staff are 100% volunteers, and all of our funds are dedicated to assist the rabbits.
The Rabbit Haven rescues abandoned rabbits and accepts surrendered rabbits from the general public, shelters, and other rescue organizations in the counties of Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Sonoma, Sacramento, San Benito, Yolo, Contra Costa, Monterey, and San Mateo in California.

Additional adoption info

Please call us at 831 239-7119 or email Director@therabbithaven.org to make an appointment to see the rabbits you want to consider for adoption.

We have 2 adoption events every month: the 2nd Saturday in Los Gatos, and usually & the 4th Sunday in Soquel (Santa Cruz). Please see our calendar at http://therabbithaven.org for more details. Friendly, supportive Haven counselors are there to answer all of your questions and to help you meet the rabbits! You may adopt on the same day.

We offer spayed and neutered rabbits, a full education packet, a free first vet exam, counseling services, free nail trims, and valuable coupons you may use to purchase needed supply. Email director@therabbithaven.org for a pre-adopt application that you can send by email. Then, we help answer all your questions and make appointments for you ahead of time so that the rabbit you want is at the adoption show for you.

Requirements: A loving, permanent, indoor, healthy home for the bunny. We have an adoption contract that we both sign when you adopt.

The Rabbit Haven is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charity. We accept donations by Paypal or check. You can find more information at http://therabbithaven.org/Donate.html. We have no government funding -- we are an all-volunteer organization. We rely on private and individual donor contributions to operate our programs.
