We are a small home based rescue and have been taking in chinchillas for 9 years. We take in approximately 4-7 chinchillas a month. All chinchillas are given a vet visit to check their health, and then they remain in our care for at least 30 days to verify the health status and behaviour of the animal. At any given time we usually have around 10 chinchillas in our care.
If a chinchilla is found to have an on going health or behavorial issue they remain in our home indefinitely.
All of our rescue chinchillas are treated exactly the same as our pets. Each chinchilla has a chin safe wheel, fleece items to sleep on and cuddle with, and unlimited wood chews to keep away the boredom and to keep their teeth filed down. We use large cages for our rescues and they get daily out of cage time.
This rescue doesn’t have any adoptable pets right now – check out adoptable pets nearby or start a custom pet search below.
We are one of the only chinchilla rescues in the state of Florida. We mainly serve North Florida and South Georgia but do often take in, and adopt out chinchillas outside these areas.
Additional adoption info
Our adoption fee is $75 for one chinchilla or $125 for a pair. The adoption fee includes a 3 month supply of food, loose hay, and hay cubes. Also included is a 75 page care binder, treats, chew sticks, Blue Cloud dust, a dust bath house, and either a hanging chew toy or a fleece hammock.
We require anyone interested in adopting a chinchilla to fill out our adoption application. We check personal references and a vet reference as well. If the application is approved we have a contract that has to be signed upon pickup of your new furry friend. Not all applications are approved. We are not a "first come, first serve" shelter. We only adopt out our animals to people we feel will give them the best home possible.
