Furever Friends of The South K-9 Rescue

Dog rescue in Crossville, AL

We are a home based, incorporated 501(c)3 non profit organization in Northeast Alabama that helps place forgotten unwanted pets in forever homes. We rescue pets from high kill shelters, strays, and unwanted pets prior to being euthanized. We do not adopt to outside only homes,or to anyone wanting to crop, dock or do any other alterations to their pets, except spaying and neutering. We highly recommend positive training methods once pets are placed in forever homes. All pets are completely vetted, heart worm tested and treated if necessary, brought up to date on all vaccines and rabies certificates. Also all FFOS pups are spayed/neutered prior to adoptions, except in the case of young pups, which will only be adopted with a contract to have them spayed or neutered when they are old enough. This is non-negotiable.

Rescue FAQs

We serve the DeKalb, and Marshall county, Alabama areas and have adoption partners in the Northeast. We do not personally transport, though some times transport can be arranged through professional transporters, however, the adopter is responsible for the transport fee as well as the health certificate, should one be required.

Additional adoption info

You must first fill out an adoption application to be considered. www.ffosk9resq.org
Our adoption fees are $275 to help cover the cost of spaying/ neutering, complete vetting, all necessary, wormers and any other medical needs. It also helps to offset the cost of food, utilities used to house our rescued dogs and puppies and other overhead costs.
In the event that you adopt a puppy that is too young for spay/neuter, a $50 payment will be made to the vet of your choice once an appointment has been scheduled.
