Songdog Rescue, Inc. is a network of volunteers and foster homes. We also network with other rescue groups and shelters in Oregon, Washington, and California. It is run by a group of volunteers who sacrifice their time and heart just for the love of these dogs..
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER! It is best to contact us by e-mail for an application as our dogs are located in various foster homes.
We also provide public education regarding the breeds that we rescue, including temperament and training. Our brochures and flyers are free as is our newsletter

We also network with other rescue groups and shelters -- sometimes as far away as Texas or Montana.
We will not adopt out our dogs further than a one day travel.
We need to be able to afford transport back to its foster home if, for some reason, your adopted pet does not work out for you.
Additional adoption info
*WE ARE NOT A SHELTER. Once we receive your application, it will be reviewed by at least three volunteers in our organization -- the adoption coordinator, the foster home, and one member of our board.
Although we take your preference in pet seriously, please understand that we may recommend another dog if we cannot approve your application for the animal you are interested in. We will match your application with the dog that we feel will fit your family and its needs.
*We do require references and they will be checked
*Most of our dogs will need a fenced yard. A tie out or cable run is not an adequate substitute.
*We do ask for an adoption fee. This can be a tax donation as 100% of it goes back to pay for the expenses and needs of the other animals still in rescue. Our adoption fees are $250 for a puppy (with $50 refundable upon completion of the Spay/Neuter contract), $200 for a purebred adult and $150 for a mixed breed adult.
*We require a signed contract that you will care for your newly adopted pet as it deserves. The contract also gives the Rescue the right to claim the pet if it is being abused or neglected.
*We require that the animal be returned back to the rescue for whatever reason. We will ALWAYS take our rescues back.
*We do ask that the adoptive family stay in touch and let us know if they have any questions.
