Four Paws Coonhound Rescue (FPCR) was started about 9 yrs ago by Rebecca Stevens. She'd recently found and adopted her beloved Gigi through Beagles and Buddies. When she realized how many coonhounds find themselves without a home, she decided to join a rare network of people who work to rescue and place coonhounds. Coonhounds are still pretty rare in Southern California, but FPCR places 50+ coonhounds per year. We are still dedicated to coonhound rescue, but our mission has evolved to include any dog or cat in need of a home. Four Paws Coonhound and Friends Rescue is a designated 501 (c) (3) (c) animal welfare organization. Our organization provides transportation, food, shelter, and support to our rescued dog and cat friends in need.

Additional adoption info
All of our potential adopters are required to start with filling out an adoption application, we then set up a meeting for that particular pet. We do recommend that they do a trial period to make sure that the animal and the family are perfect for each other. If all goes well then we will finalize the adoption. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. We also pay to register the microchip in the new owner's name. We do charge an adoption fee which will vary depending on breed & age. We also offer a Senior to Senior program for Seniors who would love to have an animal, but are on fixed incomes and cannot otherwise incur the costs of having an animal.
