Giving Animals in need a second chance.
The Second Chance Fund provides financial support for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes. This includes funding veterinary care for:
****Humane society animals who require care/surgery prior to adoption. This includes spays, neuters, vaccinations, and preventative health care.
****Stray animals
****Assistance to breed rescue groups
****Extreme hardship cases - animals who are surrendered to the Second Chance Fund for further care.
When it is determined that an animal can be made whole, healthy, and happy, they are given a "second chance" at life. We can then offer them hope for a future full of happiness and love through careful placement in an adoptive home.
Funding Sources Include:
**Donations from veterinary hospitals, pet owners, the general public, local businesses, and drug companies.
**Memorials
**Fundraisers such as the doggie dash, garage sales, calendars, and bake sales.
**Advanced directives and estate planning

The Application Process:
If you are interested in adopting a Second Chance animal you must:
Schedule a time to meet the available animal, during their designated "adoption period". If you have dogs at home you must bring them along to meet the pet.
Fill out the application completely and to the best of your ability. This is avaliable on our website (www.thesecondchancefund.org) or at the Lodi Veterinary Hospital or DeForest Veterinary Care.
You must return the application by the deadline date to be considered.
Understand that the Second Chance Fund has the right to accept or deny any application.
The purpose of the application is to determine who is seriously interested in adopting a Second Chance animal. There is an adoption committee that is responsible for determining ownership. If several applications are received of equal qualification, a random drawing will be held to determine ownership of said animal. If you are not chosen to be the adopted parent of the Second Chance animal, this is not a reflection of your ability to care for your pets.
