Life wasn't kind to most of the dogs entering our Shelter system, leaving them with emotional and physical scaring.
To many are immediately adopted out , before being rehabilitated just to find themselves a few weeks, month or years later in the system again facing the inevitable "death".
Rescued for Life is diligently working to change that through our mission to give the dog the time and extra care needed to detect and treat underlining issues resulting in a variety behavioral problems.
Rehabilitation and training are the key elements leading to a long and happy life for the dog, and a lasting, joyful relationship with its owner.
RFL rescue focused on individualized medical and behavioral rehabilitation for homeless dogs that would otherwise be euthanized. Once an animal enters our program, we make a commitment to care for that individual for life.
Through this vital work, Rescued for Life:
• saves lives
• enhances the human-animal bond
• ensures successful and long-term re-homing
• gives back to the community through humane education programs

Adoption Procedures
STEP ONE: Think it through. Do you have the time, energy and resources to devote to a new pet? Are you committed to caring for the pet for the next 10-15 years? Do you know what kind of pet would be best for your household?
STEP TWO: Browse our website and choose a potential candidate. If you see a dog you like ~ please fill out the adoption application and indicate what dog are you interested in.
After we received your application we will contact you to arrange and combine a home visit with a meet and greet.
STEP THREE: Adoption Contract. Once approved, you will need to finalize your adoption by completing an adoption contract and paying the adoption fee in cash, check or with
paypal (see list of adoption fees at the top of the page). At that time, available medical records will be provided along with a variety of other information.
STEP FOUR: Rescued for Life, Inc. is committed to the animals it rescues for their entire lifetime. Therefore, once an animal is adopted, RFL reserves the right to:
Check on the pet at any time to ensure its well-being.
Remove the pet from the home if any conditions of the adoption contract have been violated or, if in the opinion of RFL, the environment is unsafe.
If at any time you cannot keep your pet, you must return it to RFL and not to any other individual or shelter.
We cannot guarantee the health of any animals adopted. Any time you adopt an animal, you should take it to the vet as soon as possible. Your animal has been checked by a vet, but will need to be started immediately on a program of
preventative vet care.
Please be aware that the animals available for adoption are rescue animals and, as such, have often been exposed to a variety of diseases. Like human illnesses, these disorders can have an incubation period of up to several weeks. If the
animal you adopt shows signs of illness in the first weeks after it has been adopted, please inform us and take it to the vet for treatment. Once an animal is adopted, the adopter is responsible for all medical expenses.
