GUARD - Giantbreed United Advocates and Rescue Division

Dog rescue in Richmond, VA

We are a small foster based rescue group that specializes in Great Danes and Mastiffs, but will also take other giant breeds as space allows. We work closely with other giant breed, breed-specific rescues to help as many dogs in need as possible! The number of foster homes we have is directly related to how many dogs we can help - email us today if you're interested in opening your heart and home to a gentle giant in need!!

Rescue FAQs

GUARD rescues and adopts out throughout the state of Virginia primarily, but will adopt out to any state we can get a fellow rescue to partner with us for the adoption process. Applicants must be willing to drive to the dog's foster home to meet them before approval or decision - therefore, if we can get a partner to do your home visit, and you're willing to drive to meet the dog, that's pretty much the only restriction!

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application, vet reference, and home visit. Adopted dogs are under contract.
