Ausable Valley is a private non-profit No Kill animal shelter. We have a very active core of volunteers and have a play and exercise based enrichment program for all of our animals. AVAS staff work very hard to match pets to people.

We primarily serve Crawford county but as a private shelter we are often able to reach out to help animals in need outside of our area.

The cost of adopting a guest is as follows:
Dogs/puppies $180 if the guest is spayed/neuterd.
Dogs/puppies $230 if not spayed/neutered, with a REFUND of $50.00 when you show proof, a certificate at our vets, of spay/neuter. Also the guest will have their rabies vacination and their 1st booster for parvo&distemper
Cats/Kittens $110 spayed and neutered
Cats/Kittens $75 if not spayed/neutered with a $25 REFUND when you show proof,a certificate at out vets, of the spay/neuter. Also the guest will have their 1st booster for FLV & FIV
