Animal rescue in Wasilla, AK

I had been in rescues for many years, now was the time to do it MY way!! Many rescues were not in it for the reasons I am, and follow my heart in every decision!

Today a few of my former rescue associates have joined me in this rescue. We now ocaisionally rescue puppies. adoptable. We work with other local rescues, we are better and stronger TOGETHER!! We also advocate for cats on "rescue" lists at local " Shelters" These sweet kitties would love homes also....but their families for whatever reasons have given up on them.

Rescue FAQs

AK CAT is a small cat rescue....now also serving the K-9 lovers!! We work closly with the public. Our main directive is spaying/ and neutering being the most effective means to an end of Euthanasia.

AK CAT members volunteer with the local low cost spay / neuter clinic, and have agreat relationship with all local vets. We play an active part in our community involving animal welfare and rights. We hope someday there will be no more homeless or unwanted pets...and that they will be treated with love and kindness, and truly our Best Friends!

Additional adoption info

AK CATdoes have an adoption contract, with an adoption fee. These fees do not cover all the costs of running a rescue of this type. Not every pet who is placed from here will actually cost us what the adoption fee is, but it all averages out. ( We run $6-12 K in the RED each year)

Our adoption fees are average for our area, but we only adopt spayed / neutered pets, therefore our adoptables are truly a deal!...and one that keeps giving!!

Our pets are not allowed to go to any animal care facility ever!! They are furever pets! Think about this commitment BEFORE you ADOPT!!
