Helping animals and promoting awareness of animal cruelty is not a new concept. However, homeless animals still do not receive the attention they deserve. Too many warm and caring animals are neglected, abused and eventually euthanized, for lack of homes.
In 1998, Jill Wittels opened her arms and home to this cause hoping that she could make a difference. Helping Homeless Animals owns and operates its own shelter. The organization has a "NO KILL" philosophy in respect to it's approach to the animals that it has pledged to support.
Over ten years later, Helping Homeless Animals has helped find countless homes and has saved hundreds of animals from being put down.

Additional adoption info
We require a very thorough adoption process. Many of our rescues have suffered through very traumatic experiences which is why we need to ensure that their next home is their forever home. Our process includes an at home visit, an adoption contract, references, and an adoption fee.
