The Bloomington Animal Shelter is a municipal animal care and control facility that serves the City of Bloomington and Monroe County. The Shelter houses stray and unwanted animals, places animals for adoption, reunites lost and found pets with their guardians, and investigates reports of animal cruelty and neglect.
Additional adoption info
Please come in and visit with our pets available for adoption. Once you find an animal you would like to adopt, you will be asked to fill out an adoption survey and meet with an adoption counselor. We do require landlord approval and we do not adopt out animals to live completely outside. Our adoption fees are $75 for dogs and cats under 5 years old and $55 for those 5 years and older.
