The Siberian Husky Club of Greater New York has been in existence since 1967- we are dedicated to the rescue, awareness and show of Siberian Husky's and commit to:
1) Rescuing and placing Siberians (and others) in a good, loving, secure home,
2) Training the owner as well as the dog for a sustainable relationship, and
3) Raising awareness of the Siberian breed through education, training and show.
We do this because we love dogs, we adore Siberians, and we know that this breed is particularly difficult to simply 'adopt'. Due to the independent nature of the Siberian and the historical/geographic location of the breed, we believe that those interested in adopting a Siberian should first be educated, aware and ready for all potential circumstances.
For those who have a Siberian and are not sure if they can keep the animal, we work one-on-one to train and reconnect the family to the dog, in hopes for a happy ending.
We do not believe in euthanization of an animal, nor do we wish to place dogs in pounds where they are put on 'lists'. We appreciate volunteer assistance, temp/temp-to-perm foster families, and appreciate donations to help with the day to day costs associated with rescue.
Please get in touch with any more questions you may have on our mission, goals, and objectives.

Additional adoption info
We request a donation at adoption, but this is not required, only suggested to help us cover the costs associated with rescue! We implement a standard adoption process: home visit, vet/reference check, etc. We assist other non-profits that are in need of coordinating adoptions, so please do not hesitate to get in touch!
