Doberman Rescue Unlimited

Dog rescue in Sandown, NH

Doberman Rescue Unlimited is a non-profit organization founded in 1988. DRU has helped over 2,500 Doberman Pinschers start new lives in loving homes. For each tragedy there are hundreds of success stories. DRU helps approximately 200 Dobermans annually. During their stay at the shelter, each dog has a dedicated "wellness" person who works with the dog to evaluate their socialization skills. There is an in-house training program that gives these dogs a much better chance to succeed in a new home. DRU is also proud of their Senior and Special Needs program that allows older dogs, or those with special medical issues, an opportunity to find that last forever home. At any one time, approximately one-third of the dogs at the shelter are part of this program. The success rate for adoption of these special dogs is one of the highest in the United States. As well, DRU has community education and outreach programs to help educate people on the positive aspects of adopting an older dog.
