The mission of the Community Humane Shelter of Steuben County is to use best practices to find forever homes for animals in our care, and to promote and assist in the humane treatment of all animals.

Founded in 1973, the Community Humane Shelter of Steuben County is a private, 501(c)3 nonprofit that operates an open-admission animal shelter in Steuben County, Indiana. We rely on donations and grants from our generous supporters to provide care for over 2000 animals every year.

Includes spay/neuter, heartworm check and preventative (dogs only), preventative flea control, micro-chip, dewormed, vaccinations and rabies.

The purpose of this shelter is to find good homes for our pets. Potential adoptive guests will be treated with courtesy and respect. No potential adoptive guest will be denied from adopting a pet on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, age, disability, or marital status.
