Rescue FAQs

Annie’s Place All Breed Rescue (APABR) is a nonprofit organization devoted to rescuing homeless animals of all ages particularly from kill shelters. Most of our animals come from our Southern States where they would be euthanized for no other reason than lack of space. We then place them in adoptive homes in the North. The animals are in various foster homes in the New England area as well as in the south. As we have room up here, animals are transported to Milford, NH.
Most of New England

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is $375 and includes transport from our foster homes from the Southern States, age appropriate shots, Bordetella vaccine, wormings, Health check and Health Certificate from the Southern state where it came from as well as a Health check and Health Certificate form our Vet in NH if the animal is not picked up at transport, Spay/neuter if the animal is over 4 months old. If a pup is under the age of 6 months, a Spay/Neuter Contract is required with proof of Spay/Neuter from your vet.

Story
Meet KIMMY Rescued: 3/17/2023 Age at time of rescue: 3 days old Current weight: 42 pounds Kimmy is a sweet 2.5-year-old German Shepherd mix who’s ready to find her forever family! At 42 lbs, she’s the perfect “just right” size—big enough for adventure but small enough to snuggle on the couch. Kimmy can be a little shy at first, but give her a moment and you’ll see her happy, affectionate side shine through. She’s a gentle soul who’s looking for a calm, patient home where she can continue to build her confidence. Once she trusts you, she’ll happily be your loyal companion. ? What Kimmy loves: Going for walks (she’s wonderful on leash!) Chewing on her favorite antlers and Benebones Car rides—especially with a canine buddy along for the ride Hanging out with another dog, who helps her feel safe and secure ? Her ideal home: Kimmy would thrive in a quiet household with another friendly dog to show her the ropes. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and already knows “sit,” so she’s off to a great start with her manners. Kimmy has a medium energy level—she’s up for walks and playtime but also loves relaxing by your side. Because she can be a little hand shy, a home without young children would be best. If you’re looking for a gentle, sweet dog who will blossom with love and patience, Kimmy might just be your perfect match. Come meet her—you’ll fall in love with her soft eyes and gentle spirit! Thank you for considering a dog in need! Please go to our website at www.satoheartrescue.org to download our application. The adoption fee is $500.00 which can be paid in cash or check. We look forward to working with you! PLEASE DO NOT send an INQUIRY THROUGH ADOPT-A-PET. Due to the volume of emails we receive, we will not be able to reply.
