Shadow Cat Advocates exists to provide assistance to all the abandoned and forgotten cats and kittens that live all around us. We are a 501c3 non-profit and all donations to our organization are deductible to the extent allowed by IRS laws. We have no office expenses, no salaries, and our volunteers all work for FREE and pay their own expenses. Without volunteers, our mission would be meaningless. We are looking for additional volunteers. Are you willing to foster a cat for a short period, become a caretaker, help trap, or assist in one of our fundraising events? Rescue FAQs

We service the Stafford / Spotsylvania County areas, but will do adoptions out of state.

  • 1. Submit Application
  • 2. Meet the Pet
  • 3. Approve Application
  • 4. Sign Adoption Contract
  • 5. Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee is $140. We will do a vet check to make sure the pet(s) you have currently or previously in your home have received adequate and yearly veterinary visits. A lifetime care contract are part of the adoption process.
