Nash County Independant Animal Rescue

Animal rescue in Castalia, NC

We are a small group of Independant rescuers who pull from a few rural North Carolina high kill shelters. We do this all at our own expense. We work with non profits whenever possible to assist them in their rescue efforts. We bring into our own homes only those who no one has come for. No one else has room for. Those who are completely out of time.
We are willing to place pets out of state. All expenses involved will be paid by the adopter. This includes the cost of transport and the required health certificate. If you are willing to come to North Carolina and pick up your new family member we are off of I95 and can meet you.

Rescue FAQs

The majority of the animals that we rescue are from the Nash County shelter. This is a very high kill gassing shelter. The majority are rescued on the day they are to be euthanized. A few have been literally picked up off the street. Animals here are literally being thrown away as though they were garbage. I have seen them thrown from trucks in broad daylight.

Additional adoption info

The adoption fee for an already spayed or neutered cat is $50.00. This includes all vaccinations as well as the surgery. Kittens are $25.00 + a $25.00 neuter deposit which is refunded upon receipt of proof of surgery.

The adoption fee for a dog who is already spayed or neutered is $70.00. This includes all vaccinations and a hearworm test as well as flea treatment. Puppies and yet unaltered dogs are $25.00+ a $50.00 neuter deposit. Their adoption fee will include their 1st vaccination and worming.
All pets must be spayed and neutered. Cats must be kept as family pets and either be indoor only or indoor/outdoor pets. Dogs must be kept as indoor pets and never be allowed to live outdoors under any circumstance. The majority of the adult dogs that I place have stayed with me long enough to be housebroken. Usually I am able to provide the adopter of a good picture of their personalities, temperments, and needs. Many have been abused or severely neglected in the past. We must be assured that will never happen to them again.
If at any time you are unable to keep the pet, for any reason I will always take them back. .
