H.E.A.L., Inc. is a small fledgling foster-home based rescue comprised completely of compassionate and knowledgeable volunteers. Our rescue functions completely on donations from fellow animal lovers and is always appreciative of monetary support as well as volunteer support!
The word “HEAL” may be defined as “making whole and restoring health”, whether that be mental, emotional, or physical. It may also refer to “reconciliation or restoring amity”. H.E.A.L., Inc., Helping Every Animal Live, works diligently to fulfill both these definitions.
H.E.A.L., for the animals, is demonstrated by our commitment to keeping animals from needlessly being killed by removing them from kill-shelters, providing the medical care they need, and placing them in caring, knowledgeable foster homes until we find the perfect permanent home for them. More than 4 million animals are killed each year needlessly, and one of our goals is to help bring this tragedy to an end.
H.E.A.L., for the animals, is facilitated by our loving foster caregivers who work with our companion animals to help them overcome their difficult past and frightening shelter experiences in order to learn how to live in a “home” again. Companion animals who enter a foster environment as sad, fearful, uncertain animals, leave with a renewed confidence in themselves, other companion animals, and humans; they flourish to become the healthy, happy, confident fur friends we always knew they could and should be!
H.E.A.L., for the animals, is assisted by experienced trainers or behaviorists who are able to guide our foster caregivers in successfully transforming companion animals who may have especially challenging obstacles to overcome. In some instances, these behaviorists or trainers work directly with these animals in hands on rehabilitation.
H.E.A.L., for the animals, is dedicated to providing the necessary ingredients for these thrown away, discarded, forsaken animals to recover their physical health, their emotional soundness, and their mental well-being.
H.E.A.L. is also concerned with the restoration and reconciliation of the relationships between owners, kill shelter directors and staff, and the animals whom they claim to wish to save. We maintain a commitment to the philosophy of “no kill” and hold up the shining examples of shelters that have already made this a reality as proof that with something as simple as a change in their commitment to the belief of the possibility of no kill, the extraordinary can become the everyday reality for our companion animals, for their natural life.
H.E.A.L., Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your donation will be tax deductible; your donation is crucial in helping us reach our collective goals of stopping the needless killing of 4 million animals in our shelters each year. With your help, we can remove animals from death row and provide them the veterinary care they need. With your help, we can provide foster homes where caring individuals restore faith and trust in human beings for these animals. With your help, we can offer behavioral modification by knowledgeable trainers and behaviorists to rehabilitate animals who would otherwise be considered “unadoptable”. With your help, we can show people how to surmount environmental, behavioral, or medical conditions that they believe necessitates surrender of their companion animals.

Additional adoption info
Our adoption process involves several steps. We require an adoption application that includes a veterinary reference as well as personal references; we do call references so please notify your veterinarian to give them permission to release information to us in order to save time. If your application is approved, we require a home visit check. This is done by appointment at the convenience of the H.E.A.L., Inc. representative and the potential adopter. If possible, we can arrange for a "meet and greet" so that you can meet the companion you'd like to adopt. However, due to location of our companion animals in foster care, this may not always be possible. This, too, is scheduled by appointment at the convenience of the companion animal's foster caregiver and the potential adopter; the “meet and greet” is conducted at the companion animal’s foster home. If all these steps have been approved and you decide to adopt the companion animal, we require an adoption fee. The adoption fee covers all vetting – vaccinations (age appropriate, including rabies), worming, spay/neuter, pre-surgical blood work, post-surgical pain management, and microchipping, as well as a health certificate. Please see our website for specific adoption fees. (www.helpingeveryanimallive.com) We also require signing of a binding adoption contract before the adoption is final.
