Animal rescue in Owingsville, KY

Sylvia's Animal Sanctuary was established in 2008 with the intent to save as many dogs and cats as possible from unnecessary euthanization in Kentucky. Sylvia's has since joined forces with three other Eastern KY rescues to help save more lives. Those rescues include Sadie's Place of Louisa, TRAIN of Paintsville and Hugs and Transports of Sadieville. The emphasis is on saving lives, but we also feel that education is a key component to reducing the pet overpopulation.

Rescue FAQs

Sylvia's is a rescue established in 2008 which pulls dogs from high kill shelters in Kentucky. We have a small non public facility and most of our dogs go into foster homes until they find a permanent home. We have foster homes all over the south and northeast.

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins with a simple application. It is reviewed by the foster home and by Susan. Follow up questions are asked and then a vet check is completed. At that point, a home visit is conducted and a meet and greet is scheduled.
