We are the Greater Boise Pug Rescue and Placement Group, d.b.a. Pug Pals, Inc. In 2007, a small group of people who participate in the Boise Pug Meet-Up Group saw the need to organize and provide rescue services for Pugs and their crosses. In 2009, the group reorganized and began operating as a non-profit business and received 501(c)(3) status in 2010. As it stands now, we are funded by donations and our group is run entirely by volunteers.

Rescue FAQs

To prevent cruelty to Pugs and their crosses by rescuing them from dangerous situations; to relieve owners, whose circumstances have forced them to relinquish their pet(s); to provide emergency medical care, when required, and to educate current and potential Pug owners in the form of workshops and one on one meetings, ensuring the well-being and quality of life for the animal.

Additional adoption info

All prospective families must fill out an application and have a home visit by two members of our placement committee. A summary of the home visit and the application are provided to our Board of Directors who must approve the applicant. Once the Board approves the family, a meet & greet is scheduled to see if the Pug & family are a good fit. The family is required to enter into a Placement Agreement with our non-profit and an adoption fee is charged. The fee will depend upon the age and health of the Pug. The family agrees to attend a minimum of four (4) Pug meet-ups throughout the first year of placement as well as follow-up communication made with phone calls between the foster committee and new owner.
