I am a dog trainer who works with RI 4-H, teached at "The K-9 Connection" Warwick, RI and run my own in home dog training business. Thru my business I sometimes come across a dog or 2 how need help finding new homes. That is how I started doing rescue, now I only take in 1 or 2 dogs at a time so I can give them all of the training, health and personal attention they need.
I pay for all of my rescue dogs bills out of my own pocket , as I would rather not be a large scale rescue. And like working with one or 2 dogs at a time.

Additional adoption info
My contract is a basic contract that includes a vet reference, as well as at least 3 other personal refrences. A spay/neuter depost if the dog is to young to be done before leaving me. A life time open door caluse (meaning that for what ever reason the dog can't stay in the adopted home it must come back to me for rehoming.)
I allow a 2 week test period for the adoptor and if at any time during that time the dog and adoptor/s don't seem to fit they can retrun the dog, get their adoption fee no questions asked.
My fees range from $100 to $350 depending on the age, breed and healthy issues of the dog. Giant breeds costing more to spay/neuter, medicate ect. would be $350, healthy young adult/adult med dogs are $100 to $150 basied on their vet needs and Puppies are $250 this fee helps cover their 3 sets of vaccs, check up.
Adoptors are judged on a home/person by home/person basis as every home can't have a fence and not every fenced yard is one a dog should spend time in. So I like to let the adoptor and their familes/home speake for themselves.
