Animal rescue in Barnesville, GA

We are the Barnesville/Lamar County Humane Society, Inc. We rescue and foster pets. We also spay/neuter the pets before they go to a forever home. We help elderly and indigent people who already have a cat or dog to have them spayed/neutered. We feel as if the only way we can help save lives in our city and county is to spay/neuter. We have averaged as many as 200 - 300 spays/neuters a year. We offer low-cost spay/neuter. We transport others pets to our vet (40 miles one way) for a spay/neuter clinic since most work and cannot take time to go to the vet. We love animals.

Additional adoption info

Our fees are $75.00 for cats/kittens and dogs/puppies start at $150.00. We require you to sign an adoption agreement with our rules and regulations - particularly no declawing of cats and no dogs tied outside. We want to see how you interact with the pet. We also require three references - one has to be a vet, the other two can be friends. Also, if we do not know you, we do not take personal checks. You would need to bring a cashier's check or cash.
