Second Chance Greyhounds is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is working to form partnerships with correctional facilities throughout Georgia and Florida who will foster and train former racing Greyhounds to better prepare them for life as a treasured pet. In return for the good manners that they learn, the dogs provide an outlet for the inmates to practice patience, learn responsibility and allow these men and women the opportunity to experience unconditional love for the first time in many years. It’s a very special partnership that benefits both humans and Greyhounds.

Additional adoption info
First and foremost, you will need to complete the online adoption application located at http://www.secondchancegreyhounds.org/application-to-adopt/. Once submitted, someone with Adoptions will be in touch within a 24 hour period to conduct a brief phone interview. We do check references and require a home visit.
Our adoption fee is $600 for a trained prison Greyhound and $350 for a non-trained Greyhound and is non-refundable under ANY circumstance. The adoption fee covers all vetting for the Greyhound which includes spay/neuter, teeth cleaning, vaccinations, heartworm test, and fecal test. For those Greyhounds exiting the prison foster program, they will be trained to pass the CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test.
Your Greyhound will also be sporting a black Premier martingale collar, black leash, black turnout muzzle, as well as a numbered tag identifying your Greyhound as a Second Chance Greyhound in the event he or she is lost.
