The Colorado Shih Tzu and Maltese Rescue (CSTMR) was founded in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt
rescue organization. We are based in Denver and are a member of the All Breed Rescue Network (ABRN).
Our mission is to provide a safe and loving environment for Shih Tzu, Maltese, Lhasa Apso and
occasionally other small mixed breed dogs until appropriate permanent forever homes can be found. We care for relinquished dogs from owners who can no longer keep or care for their dogs. We also receive
dogs from numerous shelters throughout the Denver Metro area and from individuals who have found stray
dogs and who have been unsuccessful in locating their owners. CSTMR brings these little dogs into our
homes and in the process gets to know each dog's individual personality, temperament, and habits so we
can match them with the most suitable home.
